Slides

The girls love slides. At the park, they run wildly to their favorite toy--the shiny metal slide. They both try their hardest convincing their daddy to hoist them into starting position and let gravity bring them wooshing down. Attempts at walking up the slide are equally fun.

One of the advantages of having twins is the privilege of buying the largest box of diapers possible. Although I look at the box and imagine what will eventually become of all those pristine diapers, the girls looked at the box as playground construction material.

I don't know how they did it, but soon Alex and Isabella had crafted their own inside slide. Alex repeatedly climbed up the slide, sat down and went for many rides. Isabella begged to let daddy do the work of getting her to the top. But once sliding down, their reactions were the same--huge grins. I need to reclaim that part of my imagination where even boxes are fun.

Faces

When I scroll through the photos for the week, I am often struck by the different expressions digitally immortalized.

Huh? What?

Look! The Goodyear blimp.

I didn't do it.

Oh man!

Life is good!

Toys

We could buy the coolest, hottest toys on the market but sometimes simple is where it's at. Their favorite toys are still dolls, stuffed animals and books, but spoons, pasta and bowls provide endless entertainment. Sometimes muffin tins make an appearance providing a baker's dozen choices for the girls to stow their noodles. But of course, everybody knows that noodles really belong on your finger.

Dress Up

I'm not sure what Kellie does with the girls all day long, but sometimes I come home to the girls playing dress up. Accessories grab their attention with purses, hats, and pretty shoes topping the list. A huge bin of shoes sits in closet. At night time I'm sure the girls dream of wearing every single pair. At one point I wondered if they would even like wearing shoes. I now know that they LOVE them. They can't say "purse" yet, but shoes and hat have been words for months now. First things first I guess.
