Counting

The girls are counting to ten now. They have always understood one, two, and many. Even that numbering system will get you a long ways. But now they well up with pride and gleefully count onwards. At first I thought they were just repeating words without really understanding them as numbers. They have a good knack for remembering long phrases, songs, and nursery rhymes. But then they proved how much I underestimated them by counting actual things they encountered.
