Books, Books, Books
As any of their babysitters know, the girls always want to read books. "Read a story, daddy. Pleeeeease." Once you start, another books always appears to read immediately following the current offering. The weekly circuit includes a visit to the library to check out a fresh batch. Library books are always on the top of their list above all the other books in the house. Not letting trivial matters like not being able to read stop them, they "read" the books themselves and to each other.
Continually surprising me with their phenomenal memory, they conjure up the story from the last time they heard it. Picking out books from the shelf, they know the titles and recognize them by their spine. They point at the words "What does that say daddy?". Already having mastered counting to 10, letters are next. But we'll go easy on them.
